Q: Do I need to be a member of the Y to participate in the hunt? No, the Great Y Scavenger Hunt is open to anyone who registers. Q: I want to participate but don’t have a full team. Can my team still register? A: In order to compete in the hunt, each team must have 5 players. However, only the team captain’s name is required for registration meaning that you can register with an incomplete team as long as you have 5 players by the start of the hunt. Q: How physically demanding is the hunt? A: To be clear- YOU WILL SWEAT! The hunt will require your team to race around the Downtown area in a limited amount of time. Some clues will even require the group to complete a physical task. Each team can move as slowly or quickly as they want but the entire team must be together in order to start any given task. Q: Will hunt registrations be accepted on-site? A: No, we will not accept any registrations after April 19th. Q: What do I get for participating in the hunt? A: Each team member will receive an official hunt T-shirt with their chosen team name on the back. The winning team will receive prizes from the YMCA, Omni Hotels and Resorts, Style Weekly, and Relay Foods. There will also be a post hunt party with complimentary refreshments hosted at Trevi’s Lounge at the Omni Richmond Hotel. Q: Where do I park if I’m in the hunt or if I have friends coming to support me? A: Parking is available in the garage beneath the James Center, with the entrance on E Cary St or 10th St. If you enter after 4pm your parking will be FREE, validated by the YMCA. (only applies to specified garage) Q: Some of my friends want to watch the hunt, is that allowed? A: YES! We encourage everyone to bring along their own cheering squad. We will have a live band to provide some entertainment.
